Spondyloarthritis

Ankylosing spondylitis is an inflammatory disease that, over time, can cause some of the bones in the spine (vertebral bones) to fuse. This fusion reduces the flexibility of the spine and can lead to a forward-bent posture. Deep breathing can be difficult if the ribs are affected.
